1. Our service

South Yorkshire Video Transfers provides the conversion of analogue video formats, including VHS, VHS-C, Hi8 and Digital8, into digital files for personal use.

2. Inspection and pricing

All tapes are checked before conversion to confirm they can be successfully transferred.

The prices shown on our website are guideline prices.
Your final price is confirmed after inspection and before any work begins.

No conversion work will start without your approval.

3. Payment

No payment is required upfront.

Payment is only requested once conversion is complete and the final price has been agreed.
Customers are only charged for tapes that are successfully converted.

4. Unconvertible or damaged tapes

Due to the age and condition of analogue tapes, some media may be:

  • Damaged

  • Blank

  • Recorded in an unsupported format

  • Otherwise unsuitable for conversion

You will not be charged for tapes that cannot be successfully converted.

5. Handling and care of tapes

Every reasonable care is taken when handling customer tapes.

However, due to the age and fragile nature of analogue media, South Yorkshire Video Transfers cannot be held responsible for pre-existing faults, deterioration, or tape failure that occurs as a result of normal playback during inspection or conversion.

6. Collection and drop-off

Local collection is available within South Yorkshire only and must be arranged in advance.

Drop-off and collection details will always be confirmed by email before any handover takes place.

7. Customer responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have the legal right to copy and convert the content provided.

We do not accept material that infringes copyright or contains illegal content.

8. Approval before work begins

No conversion work will begin without customer approval of the final quote.
